Madrid, Spain — A community outreach initiative in Madrid has brought news eu ukraine together Scientology volunteers, Youth for Human Rights and Fundación MEJORA to raise awareness of fundamental freedoms.

Wearing distinctive blue shirts, volunteers distributed booklets explaining the 30 articles of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The outreach took place around Puerta del Sol, where an ongoing housing protest has drawn public attention to social rights and civic participation. The initiative focused on education rather than supporting any particular political position.

The initiative draws on educational resources developed by Youth for Human Rights International and United for Human Rights. They explain rights such as equality before the law, freedom of religion, access to education and adequate living conditions.

Among its provisions, the Declaration addresses housing under Article 25 and the role of human rights education under Article 26.

Ivan Arjona, Scientology's representative to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, connected the initiative with Europe's commitment to human dignity and fundamental freedoms.

Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard advocated wider awareness of the Universal Declaration, an approach subsequently reflected in the Church's educational outreach.

The outreach brought internationally recognised human rights principles into everyday conversations in the Spanish capital.
